Visit a Pumpkin Patch this Fall!

Ottawa Pumpkin Patches

(that also have fun activities!)

No matter how old your children are, going to a pumpkin patch in the Fall is a long standing tradition for many Ottawa area families. Seeing a Charlie Brown-esque field of orange pumpkins is exciting for everyone. Whether you want to bake with them, decorate with them, or carve them into a Jack-o-Lantern, it’s pumpkin season in the Ottawa area.

At Fitmama Strong Ottawa, we love supporting local events and businesses, as well as our community members when they want explore and discover new family adventures. That’s why we’ve put together a list of local pumpkin patches you can check out!

As an added bonus, these locations also offer other activities like hay rides, corn mazes and haunted Halloween fun.

Our favourite Pumpkin Patches around the Ottawa Area to visit

Hay Animals at Proulx Farm

Proulx Farms

PumpkinFest returns to the delight of many families in the area at Proulx Farms, just East of Orleans. Enjoy a hay ride, see the animals on the farm, slide down giant slides, walk the mazes, play at the parks, climb the hay and more. Pick a pumpkin from the patch (not included in admission), or purchase the perfect size in the shop. Tickets are available online for weekend events.

Cannamore Orchard

Family Fun weekends at Cannamore Orchards (about 35 minutes from Ottawa) are filled with fun (and pumpkins). Take the tractor ride to the pumpkin patch,  jump on the cow train, tour around in pedal cars, play games, enjoy the mazes and more! Tickets are available online. Want a frightful experience that’s a little less scary? You can purchase their Acres of Terror daytime tickets separately, for October dates.

The Log Farm

Families with children under 10 will love to explore The Log Farm this autumn for wagon rides, scarecrows and pumpkins! The kids can see the farm animals, check out the corn sensory table, play on one of the three play structures or try to escape from the corn maze, just to name a few of their offerings.

The Barn at Saunders Farm

Saunders Farm

For many years, Saunders Farm has brought Halloween fun and fright to families in Ottawa and this year their programming - daytime and nighttime - is back. It’s also the perfect time to get your pumpkins too! The daytime activities are less scary but still include a lot of fun - like their haunted wagon ride, giant mazes, play areas and stage shows. Really need to avoid a scare? Instead of the haunted wagon ride, take the kids on a leisurely wagon ride through the pumpkin patch.

Millers Farm and Garden Centre

Near Manotick, is Millers Farm and Garden Centre, waiting to welcome you to their pumpkin patch! Pick-your-own pumpkin, hop on a tractor ride and make your way through their corn mazes. At the produce and garden centre, you can find fresh produce and seasonal decor (like corn stalks, straw bales, gourds and more) to decorate your own home or front porch.

A final note before you plan your pumpkin patch outing:

Many of the locations require advance tickets, while others have drop in availability. But, they all have different opening days and hours so we encourage you to check out their websites first before attending for all of their up to date information!

Thanks to Rebecca at A Little Bit of Momsense for the great photos!
